Biden’s border policies helping cartels, traffickers flourish

WASHINGTON (Realist English). Chaos at the US-Mexico border has ensued over the past 16 months, Joe Biden Administration’s refusal to enforce US immigration laws enriches drug cartels and human traffickers, says Robert Law, Director of the Center for Homeland Security and Immigration at the America First Policy Institute.

According to the expert, the refusal of the federal government to enforce immigration laws has led to the flourishing of the business of the drug cartels, smugglers and human traffickers.

“The drug cartels and trafficking rings are businesses; cruel, illicit businesses but businesses nonetheless… By some estimates, the cartels are raking in billions of dollars with no end in sight. While these nefarious actors financially profit, they leave behind a path of human suffering and death. Every illegal alien smuggled or trafficked to the southern border is subjected to some form of mental, emotional or physical abuse. Many women, including young girls, are sexually abused along the journey north,” he stressed in an article for Fox News.

Robert Law is confident that the American people deserve political leadership that tells them the truth and pursues an effective policy to restore law and order:

“Make no mistake, the human trafficking catastrophe at the border is the direct result of today’s failed border security strategy. We deserve better.”

The length of the border between the United States and Mexico is 3,145 km. In March, US border authorities arrested 210,000 migrants trying to cross the border with Mexico. This is the highest monthly figure in two decades.

In early February 2021, President Joe Biden signed three executive orders regarding immigration policy. The changes affected the procedure for granting asylum at the US-Mexico border, some rules of legal immigration and the policy of family reunification of illegal immigrants.
