Issue of Artsakh’s status is the only topic for Kremlin to talk with Europe and US

It is time for the Kremlin to abandon its pro-Turkish and pro-Baku line, which leads Russia to a dead end. The sooner the better. If the ruling class of the Russian Federation, in collusion with the Yerevan government, continues to surrender Armenian interests in Artsakh and Armenia, then what good is it for the West to talk further with the Kremlin? Then the West will talk directly to the Turks, according to the Realist Information Agency Editor-in-chief Sarkis Tsaturyan.

Issue of Artsakh’s status is the only topic for Kremlin to talk with Europe and US

STEPANAKERT (Realist English). The issue of the future status of Artsakh is the only topic in whose framework the Kremlin is able to maintain a trialog with Europe and the United States, the Realist Information Agency Editor-in-chief Sarkis Tsaturyan believes.

“The provocations of the Baku regime in Artsakh should clarify a fundamental thing for the ruling class of Russia: the issue of the future status of Artsakh is the only topic in whose framework the Kremlin is able to maintain a trialog with Europe and the United States. And not only on the Armenian issue, but on their personal (Russian) topics. There are no other topics for communication left. Moscow is unlikely to agree with the West on the Ukraine or on the deployment of missiles in Europe,” he wrote in his telegram channel.

Tsaturyan believes that it is not worth relying on oil and gas in a trialog with the USA and the EU:

“This is just commerce, which in the long run will not protect Russia, but on the contrary, will strengthen its economic dependence on the European and Chinese markets (after all, it’s not 1974).

The statement of State Duma Deputy Mikhail Delyagin that Russia does not need the oil and gas economy of Azerbaijan is another confirmation of this. By the way, Delyagin is not the only one in Moscow who thinks this way: he publicly outlined what many people the upper echelons are worried about. The access of Russian energy carriers to world markets will eventually narrow (this is inevitable), especially against the backgdrop of the lifting of all crippling sanctions against Iran, which will happen in the very near future.”

In his opinion, any gas and oil supplies to the EU, alternative to the Russian Federation, will be perceived by the Russian ruling class as a blow to their well-being.

“Behind Tehran’s back are China, Europe and, more recently, the United States. The Russians will have to find a common language with the Persians. But with the Baku regime, which is backed by the Turks and the Israelis, not everything is so clear… The Armenian issue may become a “lifeline” for Russia, but it still needs to be used.

Then the West will talk directly with the Turks,” he concluded.

In September 2020, using the tacit consent of the Kremlin, the armed forces of Turkey and Azerbaijan attacked Artsakh and Armenia with the support of international mercenary terrorists from Syria, Libya and Afghanistan. Since then, Baku and Ankara have continued their occupation policy on Armenian lands, physically destroying Armenian cultural heritage — churches, khachkars, museums and all kinds of mentions of Armenians on stone or on paper.
