CEC chief Pamfilova: Western pressure won’t derail Russia’s elections

MOSCOW (Realist English). On September 11, Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) opened its official information center ahead of the country’s nationwide election day scheduled for September 14.

CEC Chair Ella Pamfilova presented a report titled “On the Readiness of Election Commissions to Conduct the Single Voting Day 2025,” declaring that the system is fully prepared for what she called an important political event.

“Very soon polling stations will open in the Far East as part of EVD-2025. In keeping with tradition, the CEC is reporting on its readiness. I note that in recent years, the West has unleashed an unrestrained campaign against Russia, placing us under difficult conditions. But we have learned to conduct elections even in the most extreme situations. No one can intimidate us, and we follow no one’s lead,” Pamfilova said in her remarks.

She thanked local commissions for their work, stressing that despite differences and diversity across the country, election officials have proven — as in the 2024 presidential election — their ability to mobilize and act “as a single organism” in addressing the most complex political tasks.

The report included detailed statistics on candidate nominations and registrations across all levels of elections, modern electoral standards, and additional voting opportunities. These include arrangements for remote and hard-to-reach regions, extraterritorial polling stations, as well as data on remote electronic voting (DEG), e-voting systems, and the “Mobile Voter” program.

On September 14, more than 5,000 election campaigns will be held across 81 regions of the Russian Federation, including main, additional, and repeat elections. Around 46,000 deputy mandates and elective posts will be contested. Approximately 55 million voters are eligible to take part.
