GROZNY (Realist English). On March 15, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev held a meeting in Grozny on ensuring national security in the North Caucasus.

The topics for discussion were issues of economic, state and public security, additional measures to counter international extremist and terrorist organizations.

Patrushev stressed that the economic war unleashed against Russia makes it difficult to implement national projects. In this connection, the regions should analyze economic threats, take appropriate measures and achieve the indicators set in national projects.

According to him, it is necessary to simultaneously comprehensively develop and strengthen foreign economic relations with friendly countries, in relations with which there is unrealized potential.

“Of course, in addition to socio-economic processes, it is necessary to keep the socio-political situation under constant control, ensure employment of the population, establish strict control over the pricing of goods and services, take the necessary measures to preserve stability and public security,” the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation said.

Instructions were given in relation to increasing control over the anti-terrorist security of critical and potentially dangerous infrastructure facilities, as well as places of mass stay of people. “The importance of strengthening efforts to identify and promptly prevent ethnic and religious extremism, timely blocking the work of non-governmental non-profit organizations conducting illegal activities on the territory of Russia was emphasized,” the press service of the Security Council of the Russian Federation informed.

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that during the meeting, emphasis was placed on protecting the population from natural and man-made emergencies. “Nikolai Platonovich [Patrushev] paid special attention to the issues of ensuring national security in the North Caucasus Federal District in the context of the special military operation in Ukraine, the aggravation of the international political situation, as well as the growth of economic and political pressure on Russia,” the Chechen leader added.

The Security Council is a constitutional advisory body that prepares decisions of the President of Russia on issues of state security, public security, environmental security, personal security, other types of security provided for by law, organization of defense, military construction, defense production, military and military-technical cooperation of the Russian Federation with foreign states, as well as on other issues, related to the protection of the constitutional order, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. In addition, the Security Council is responsible for issues of international cooperation in the field of national security.
