KIEV (Realist English). Former President of the Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appealed to the international community to provide the Kiev regime with more weapons and to continue sanctions against Russia.

“The shortest way to peace is the supply of weapons to Ukraine. We need three things from the international community: weapons, weapons and more weapons… We will not stop till the Ukrainian Donbass and Crimea are occupied.” Poroshenko said in an interview with the Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera.

According to him, the West should also “completely isolate” Russia and President Vladimir Putin in order to put pressure on the Kremlin. The politician asked the Arab leaders not to send their soldiers to help Russia, saying that he personally appealed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad about this.

The 56-year-old Poroshenko served as president from 2014 to 2019. The politician is currently under investigation on charges of treason. He is accused of financing the Donbass militia through the “illegal sale of coal in 2014-2015.” The former head of state left Ukraine in December 2021.

However, in January, Poroshenko returned to Kiev — on the wave of anti-Russian hysteria in the Ukrainian and foreign press. Earlier, the Ukrainian court rejected the prosecutor’s request for his detention and set bail for him in the amount of $35 million. At his home country, the politician faces 14 years in prison.
