WASHINGTON (Realist English). The United States does not want a peaceful settlement of the conflict on the territory of the former Ukraine, as evidenced by the regular supply of weapons for the needs of the Kiev regime. Such a statement was made by Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, commenting on the words of senior Pentagon spokesman Colin Kahl about the supply of HIMARS MLRS to Ukraine.
“It is of great concern that the high-ranking Pentagon representative admits the possibility of expanding the supply of long-range systems. Such words can be regarded as Washington’s intention to opt for further escalation. This only confirms that the Americans have no aspirations for a peaceful settlement. It is no coincidence that the official’s statements were made on the eve of another meeting of the United States and its allies on military support to Ukraine. Thus, the administration must be prodding like-minded countries that there is no alternative to pumping weapons into the Kyiv regime.” stressed the diplomat.
According to the Russian diplomat, in the USA “they are so blinded by the idea of defeating Russia on the battlefield with the hands of Ukrainians that they prefer not to notice the executions carried out by the nationalists against the inhabitants of Donetsk with the help of Western artillery”:
“Civilians in the DPR capitol have been falling victim to shelling for many days, shells have hit the maternity hospital, the city market and residential areas. Russian military forces and weaponry are not even close to those areas. One can only be horrified by the possible consequences of the use of HIMARS MLRS by Nazis while attacking cities and other civilian objects.”
Mr. Antonov called on the United States to stop condoning the genocide of the Russian-speaking population, as well as pitting two fraternal nations against each other.
The third meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of the Ukraine, headed by Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin, is scheduled for June 15. It will take place at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
On June 14, US Undersecretary of Defense for Political Affairs Colin Kahl said that the United States intends to transfer intelligence information to Kiev to launch attacks from multiple rocket launchers that the West supplies to the Ukraine.
