Zelensky says he is ready for peace talks “in any format” after White House visit

WASHINGTON (Realist English). The head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, said after his visit to the White House that he is ready to begin peace negotiations “in any format”, reiterating his agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump on the need to “start talking with Vladimir Putin about a fair and lasting peace for the sake of all nations.”

As reported by the BBC, Zelensky said he is open to both bilateral and trilateral formats of talks “if that brings us closer to peace.”

Commenting on the upcoming Putin–Trump meeting in Budapest, Zelensky suggested that Moscow “might be frightened by the prospect of Ukraine receiving Tomahawk missiles.” He described his mood regarding the possible delivery of the powerful U.S. weapons as “realistic, but rather optimistic.”

The Ukrainian leader admitted that the so-called Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to fully repel Russian ballistic missile attacks with their current air defense systems, adding that “pressure on Russia must continue in the form of new arms packages.”

Zelensky’s statements follow a period of renewed diplomatic maneuvering, as Washington and Moscow signal cautious openness to negotiations following months of intensified fighting during what Russia calls its special military operation.
