Sherin: LDPR can stand on its 85 points of support

These are regional branches of the party – strong, powerful, confident, which will enjoy constant support and protection from the leader of the Liberal Democrats, said a member of the LDPR Supreme Council.

MOSCOW (Realist English). Politician Alexander Sherin told Realist Information Agency about the prospects of the LDPR after Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

“There are many expert opinions on the future fate of the LDPR, who can lead and preserve the party. The LDPR has always been an independent political force, never united with anyone. Now that Vladimir Zhirinovsky has left our world, the LDPR can stand on its 85 points of support. These are regional branches of the party – strong, powerful, confident, which will enjoy constant support and protection from the chairman of the LDPR, whom the Congress should elect independently.

Russia needs the LDPR as a party with a state and patriotic policy. Local officials have learned not to make bold, independent decisions. They are afraid to take the initiative, they are afraid to “show up” once again. The work is only on the completion of ready-made assignments.

Over the years, a degeneration of strong independent statesmen has taken place, a class of young fashionable technocrats-performers has formed. Many challenges await our country, both on the foreign and home fronts. And this will require a huge number of independent statesmen; they can appear only in the competitive struggle of different political parties.

The presence of the LDPR with its ideology, with its core, with its onslaught and determination, such bold statements and forecasts, with the protection of the Russians, with the protection of the national idea of Russia’s imperial and Soviet past, of our Orthodox faith is simply necessary. In foreign policy, the LDPR uses harsh, sometimes aggressive rhetoric, which representatives of the “pro-government party” cannot always afford.

On the national coat of arms of the country, the eagle has two heads. And the support link for the government, that very “second head” may be the LDPR – but as an independent, standalone opposition political force.

And if there is a skew, if the patriotic opposition forces are destroyed, then, unfortunately, this will give a left tilt. And many disappointed representatives of political forces may take radical action. And we already know how the strengthening of the left ends in the national history during the period, when the army is on the fronts, and we cannot allow this.

Therefore, in order for the president of the country to know alternative information from the ground, what is really happening in the country, and to count on the support not only of the party that expects a command from him, but also from the opposition, the LDPR must remain the most courageous, resolute state-forming patriotic force. It is the LDPR that can form the very national idea that everyone is waiting for.” believes Alexander Sherin.
