The Moonq Technology School held an international reporting conference in Yerevan

YEREVAN (Realist English). On March 10, the heads of the MoonqTechnology School held an international reporting videoconference dedicated to the anniversary of the organization’s activities. It was attended by representatives of the village of Agorti (Martuni district of Artsakh), as well as colleagues from the Armenian capital, Rostov-on-Don and Paris.

The participants of the videoconference told about the history of the technology school and its mission, presented the results of its activities over the past year. They also approved and presented the Moonq development plan, which involves opening of branches in other countries.

Moonq is a technology school that opens up new talents in the field of IT, allowing Armenian children from rural areas and small towns to receive a quality education. From now on, every child in Artsakh and other regions of Armenia has a chance to become a high-class specialist without leaving their small homeland.

At the moment, two technical schools are functioning — in Stepanakert and in the village of Akhorti.

“Moonq is not just an educational project, but also a deep philosophy, which consists in the fact that Artsakh is not just a territory, but a high—tech educational center that can give the world high—quality knowledge. The opening of technology schools outside of Artsakh changes the image and recognition of Artsakh,” Moonq Development Director Hayk Trunyan said in an interview with The Realist News Agency.

The uniqueness of the technocool lies in the teaching methodology, which pays great attention to the education of individuals. Children are taught skills that can already be used in practical life today. Students apply their knowledge in various projects, gaining experience, which then allows them to find their place in the labor market.

At Moonq, children study for free — at the expense of investors. Children can stay close to their parents without leaving their native lands to get an education. After training, graduates are already full-fledged specialists in the field of IT and even during training they can earn their first money.

“In addition to IT education, Moonq educates each person as an independent person, develops analytical thinking. The program is multifaceted and provides for everything from primary education to employment. I would also like to highlight the uniqueness of the teaching methodology. It consists in the fact that two people conduct the educational process at the courses: a teacher and a group leader (assistant teacher). The teacher leading the lesson is responsible for submitting the material and conducting the lesson, while the group leader works individually with each student, supports him or her during problem solving and develops teamwork skills. He is a friend of students both during lessons and outside of them,” explained Ashot Avanesyan, who is the director of the Moonq school in the Artsakh village of Akhorti.

The student independently chooses the direction in which he or she will develop, but at the same time he or she must pass the first stage and get basic knowledge. The training takes place according to current educational programs, but at the same time great attention is paid to the development of each student as a person — through various team projects.

Upon completing the course, Moonq promotes the employment of the students, including through the implementation of startups.

In Moonq they are confident that education in the field of IT is the key to a successful future and development not only of an individual, but also of society as a whole. Thus, the technical school solves a number of social problems that are relevant to the Armenian society.

Despite the blockade of Artsakh, Moonq continues its activities, planning to open new branches in Georgia (Javakhk) and Russia in 2023.
