MOSCOW (Realist English). Western countries are becoming complicit in the mistreatment of Russian prisoners, in which the Ukrainian Nazis now excel. This requires an appropriate legal assessment, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service said in a statement.
It’s about the provision of military, technical and moral support by the West to the Ukraine against the backgdrop of the publication of cruel footage of the torture of captured Russian servicemen. In particular, one of the most egregious videos of this kind was filmed in the Kharkiv region in the camp of the Ukrainian Nazi formation, which is banned in Russia.
“There is concrete information that the Ukrainian leadership has informed Britain that it does not intend to comply with the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War. The Ukrainian authorities are urging their Western patrons to encourage the International Committee of the Red Cross and various international humanitarian NGOs to abandon attempts to gain access to Russian prisoners of war… The support of the Ukraine by Western countries in such conditions makes them complicit in the inhuman crimes of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis and requires an appropriate legal assessment,” the SVR stressed.
According to intelligence information, the Kievan regime does’t plan to provide sufficient food and medical care to Russian prisoners of war:
“The captured Russian servicemen, many of whom are wounded, are not supposed to be provided with adequate food and emergency medical care under the pretext that “many Ukrainians are deprived of it now.”
On March 29, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the torture and attempted murder of eight prisoners by the Ukrainian security forces.
On March 28, the Head of the UN Human Rights Mission in the Ukraine, Matilda Bogner, called for an investigation after the publication of a video of the torture of the Ukrainian military of the Russian prisoners of war.
