TEHRAN (Realist English). The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared that the Iranian nation remains fully prepared to confront and defeat its adversaries, emphasizing that past victories prove its ability to force opponents into retreat.
In a statement issued Sunday on the anniversary of the return of prisoners of war from the 1980s conflict imposed by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, the IRGC stressed that Iran stands “at the height of experience, faith, and multiplied strength.”
“Today, the Iranian nation is prepared to crush any enemy front and any malicious plan against the security and future of its land,” the statement read.
The Guards hailed the former prisoners as “symbols of active resistance and strategic hope,” adding that their endurance reflected the broader national triumph during the eight-year war and in what the statement described as repelling “Israeli-American aggression” in June. According to the IRGC, Iranian forces forced Iraq into retreat with overwhelming public support and pushed Israel to request a ceasefire on June 24, despite receiving “unprecedented American backing” throughout the 12-day campaign.
The Corps linked that legacy to the “resilience of the Palestinian resistance” and the “repeated defeats of the Zionist regime and its American backers across West Asia.”
“The power of faith, national unity, and revolutionary steadfastness can bring the biggest war machines and imperialist policies to their knees,” the statement said, praising the resilience of former servicemen.
The IRGC reiterated its allegiance to the principles of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, as well as to the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the Iranian people.
The statement concluded by forecasting the eventual “liberation of regional nations from Western-backed Israeli occupation and American military adventurism,” asserting that this would “expand the geography of resistance to the horizon of ultimate triumph for the global Islamic Ummah.”
