Pashinyan has to resign, but street rallies are not enough to remove him

The former presidents of Armenia are not able to lead the country out of the crisis, because they themselves plunged the nation into the crisis, reminds the editor-in-chief of Realist Information Agency Sarkis Tsaturyan.

The protests in Yerevan

MOSCOW (Realist English). The editor-in-chief of the Realist Information Agency, Sarkis Tsaturyan, recorded a video message in which he assessed the protests in Yerevan.

Tsaturyan also spoke about his work on a book dedicated to the Armenian Dream, which he writes specifically for the Armenians who are ready to fight for their national and civil rights.

The Realist Information Agency gives the full text of Tsaturyan’s appeal to subscribers:

“I have not changed my opinion about Pashinyan. I consider him a traitor to the vital interests of the Armenian people. I think he has to resign. It will be his greatest personal contribution to the salvation of the nation if he just leaves.

At the same time, I do not agree with the former presidents of Armenia. I just don’t believe them. They had a chance to lift the country from its knees, recognize Artsakh, and provide a Miatsum. They just didn’t do it. They had other tasks. They can now find various excuses that allegedly someone did not allow them. Even if this someone didn’t allow it, they had to do it, because it was their duty as heads of the state.

And today they position themselves as “champions” of the interests of Artsakh and the interests of the Armenian people. How can the people who plunged the country into the crisis bring this very country out of the crisis? This is impossible, because they simply lack the competence. And Pashinyan also lacks competence. They’re all worth each other.

Unfortunately, pro-Armenian forces have not yet come to power in Armenia. They are pro-Russian, pro-whatever, but not pro-Armenian.

I’m being asked, will the protesters be able to overthrow Pashinyan? To answer this question, it is necessary to analyze what we are seeing on the streets of Yerevan today. A protest action is not just a political movement or a political step. The fact is that this is a whole science. Tactics and strategy of regime change in a particular country are the same science as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics. It has its own clear-cut laws.

The science of protests says that before preparing for street protests, real organizers must conduct recruitment work in the police, special services and the armed forces. This is required in order to win over the security forces. If the protesters manage to win over the security forces, then the government and the state apparatus become completely isolated from each other. This is the task of street protests.

Street protests are an element of recruitment in law enforcement agencies, through which the government is isolated from the state apparatus. It’s not my invention. It’s written in the books.

For decades, experts have been studying this topic, writing works on it and using developments in different countries. I have been studying this topic for seven years. I defended my dissertation on this. I had to study a lot of things. There are objective laws and techniques by which you can overthrow the government. But, if you have not engaged in this recruitment, then you will not succeed.

You can walk around Yerevan for months, block the transport arteries, but the power is not on these streets. Power is a vertical of power that you just have to “cut”. But it is impossible to do this without relying on the security forces.

The rallies in Yerevan have been going on since April 17. It’s been over two weeks now. During this time, we have not seen a single transition from the police, the armed forces, representatives of the state apparatus, the ruling party onto the side of the protesters. No one sided with the protesters. This indirectly suggests that no recruitment work has been carried out. Such a movement cannot end up in victory, because, most likely, the organizers of the rallies did not set the change of power in Yerevan as their goal.

At the same time, I see a lot of decent guys on the streets of Yerevan. I personally know many of them. These are not only young men, but also girls and women. They go out for ideological reasons, not because someone promised them something. These are decent people. I respect them because they are fighting for their rights. But… judging by the level of organization of the rallies, everything is rather sad.

To dilute all this pessimism, I want to say that I am writing a book especially for those Armenians who are ready to fight for national and civil rights. I’ve already prepared half of it. This book is dedicated to the Armenian Dream. This is an attempt to comprehend Armenian history and offer a picture of the future. I’m writing it just for you. For those of my brothers and sisters who are ready to fight and will fight for their rights. As soon as I finish it, I will come to you. And I will fight for our common Armenian interests, for our common Armenian rights, for our right to live in our historical homeland.”
