MOSCOW (Realist English). The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on the third anniversary of the assassination of journalist and public figure Darya Dugina, reiterating accusations that the attack was orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence services.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the West and international institutions “turned a blind eye” to the murder as well as to other crimes allegedly committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis against journalists and war correspondents. She accused the “Kiev regime,” under Western patronage, of conducting a “systematic hunt” against Russian media representatives.
“Darya Dugina’s tragic fate became a symbol of selfless service to the Motherland, of dedication and fidelity to ideals,” the statement read. Moscow emphasized that her legacy continues to be honored through book publications, cultural projects, and awards such as the international youth prize Russian Frontier and the medal “For Loyalty to the Russian World and Traditional Values.” Streets, murals, and memorial plaques across Russia bear her name, and earlier this year a monument to her was unveiled in Moscow’s Odintsovo district.
Zakharova stressed that the crime has no statute of limitations: “The perpetrators will be found and will inevitably face punishment.”
