WASHINGTON (Realist English). US President Joseph Biden called the results of the midterm congressional elections “a good day for democracy” and “a good day for America”.

The head of state promised to compromise with the Republicans if it meets the interests of the people. Meanwhile, the Republican Party is approaching a majority in the House of Representatives, having already received 210 seats of the needed 218 seats.

According to him, regardless of the outcome of the midterm elections, he intends to run for the presidency in 2024. However, there is no final decision yet, and he promises to take it in early 2023.

CNN claims that former President Donald Trump is “furious” and “yelling at everyone” after the disappointing results of the Republican Party.

“Candidates matter. They were all bad candidates,” a Trump adviser said, criticizing the candidates, many of whom were hand-picked by the ex—president.

The most striking loss for Trump occurred in Pennsylvania, where Turkish-born Republican Mehmet Oz lost to Democrat John Fetterman in the most expensive senate race. Trump personally supported Oz during the controversial Republican primaries.

In New Hampshire, former Trump aide Caroline Levitt lost to a member of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party Chris Pappas. In North Carolina, Trump-backed Republican Bo Hines lost to Democrat Wiley Nickel. And in Ohio, Democratic member of the House of Representatives Emilia Sykes defeated Republican Madison Gesiotto Gilbert.

The battle for the Senate may drag on until December 6. On that day, elections will be held in states where the winner has not yet been revealed. Control of the Senate depends on the outcome of the vote in Nevada and Arizona. On the evening of November 9, about 160 thousand votes remained to be counted in Nevada, CNN reports.

As of the morning of November 10, Democratic Senator from Arizona Mark Kelly had an advantage over Republican Blake Masters, while Democratic Senator from Nevada Catherine Cortez Masto lagged behind Republican Adam Laxalt.

Former Nevada Attorney General  Laxalt, who co-chaired Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign in the state, filed lawsuits to overturn the results, which he said were “rigged.”

In response, Cortez Masto said that the lies and conspiracy theories held by Trump and his allies, such as Laxalt, led to the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
