WARSAW (Realist English). The United States has approved more than $500 million in investments for the development of military infrastructure in Poland, Polish government spokesman Adam Szłapka said.

According to Szłapka, the funding will be directed to military facilities in Drawsko Pomorskie, Powidz, Wrocław and Łask — key locations used by both Polish and allied forces. “Strong alliances mean real security. The United States has approved investments exceeding $500 million in military infrastructure in Poland,” he wrote on social media.

Szłapka said deeper cooperation with Washington directly enhances Poland’s defence capabilities and reinforces NATO’s eastern flank.

Polish authorities have previously said that more than 10,000 US troops are currently stationed in the country. In February 2022, following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Washington doubled its military presence in Poland as part of broader efforts to reassure allies bordering Russia.

The newly approved investments are seen as entrenching a long-term US military footprint in Poland and reflecting NATO’s strategic shift toward Eastern Europe. Amid the protracted conflict around Ukraine, allied officials increasingly view infrastructure — logistics hubs, air bases and training grounds — as a cornerstone of deterrence and resilience, alongside troop numbers.

Poland has emerged as a central hub for NATO operations and support for Ukraine, positioning itself as one of Washington’s key security partners in the region.
