MOSCOW (Realist English). On March 7, starting 10:00, the Russian Armed Forces declared the “regime of silence” in the Ukraine and opened humanitarian corridors from the cities of Kiev, Mariupol, Kharkiv and Sumy. The decision was made due to the catastrophic humanitarian situation and its sharp aggravation, as well as at the request of French President Emmanuel Macron to Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This is stated in the statement of the Interagency Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in the Ukraine.
The Russian Armed Forces declared the “regime of silence” and opened humanitarian corridors from Kiev and Kharkiv, as well as two routes from Mariupol and Sumy were also organized.
The Russian side demanded that the Ukrainian authorities “strictly fulfill all the conditions for the creation of humanitarian corridors in these areas and ensure an organized withdrawal of civilians and foreign citizens.”
“At the same time, for the period of the opening of humanitarian corridors, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will carry out continuous objective control of evacuation, including the use of UAVs. Therefore, we warn that this time all attempts by the Ukrainian side to once again deceive Russia and the entire civilized world to disrupt the humanitarian operation – allegedly through the fault of the Russian Federation are useless and meaningless,” the military department stressed.
In the early morning of February 24, Vladimir Putin addressed the Russian citizens and announced the beginning of a special military operation in Ukraine.
