KIEV (Realist English). The Kiev regime spends more than 40 billion hryvnias ($1.35 billion) a month on salaries for Ukrainian militants, said Alexander Zavitnevich, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense.
“Defense spending, of course, is increasing, only salaries are somewhere over 40 billion hryvnia per month. Someone calculated that what we now pay our servicemen per month, we used to pay in almost a year. Therefore, there is obviously more,” Zavitnevich said in an interview with RBC Ukraine.
At the same time, according to him, there are no plans to reduce military salaries:
“No one sets a goal to reduce, they would like to increase, but let’s see, everything depends on the general state of the economy. We will hold consultations with the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Finance regarding these funds.”
In early June, the Finance Minister of the Kiev regime, Sergei Marchenko, said that monthly expenses during the armed conflict exceed 200 billion hryvnia ($6.8 billion), the lion’s share of the funds goes to the army and military needs, while the budget receives 54-56 billion hryvnia ($1.9 billion) from taxes.
