DUBAI (Realist English). Dubai Police have issued a public warning about a disturbing new social media trend known as the “burning evil dolls” challenge, which encourages children and teenagers to set dolls on fire in an attempt to recreate horror movie scenes.
Authorities said the viral videos, now circulating across several platforms, pose serious safety and health risks, as burning materials such as plastic, fabric, or synthetic hair can easily ignite fires, release toxic fumes, and cause severe burns or fatalities.
As part of its Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign, Dubai Police called on parents to monitor their children’s digital activities and to have open conversations about the dangers of copying viral online stunts.
“Many of these so-called challenges are created only to attract attention and generate views,” officials said, “without any regard for the safety or wellbeing of young users.”
The police emphasized that public awareness and parental supervision are key to preventing accidents and protecting children from harmful online behavior.
