JERUSALEM (Realist English). Israeli television channel Channel 12 reported that Israeli officials assess Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was likely killed in an Israeli strike earlier today, citing unnamed sources and what it described as “growing indications.”
There has been no official confirmation from Israel or Iran regarding the report.
Minutes before suggesting Khamenei may have been killed, Channel 12 said the initial assessment was that he had at least been wounded. The broadcaster stated that the evaluation was not based on satellite imagery of damage to his compound, but on information from unspecified sources.
Khamenei is reportedly expected to deliver a public address shortly. According to the same report, if such a statement is aired, it may have been recorded in advance.
Channel 12 also said the strikes inflicted “very significant harm” on Iran’s political and military leadership.
Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported separately that there was currently “no contact” with Khamenei and that his condition remained unknown.
The conflicting accounts underscore the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the latest strikes and their potential impact on Iran’s leadership structure.
