MOSCOW (Realist English). A coalition of prominent Russian-Armenian organizations visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow this week to express solidarity amid ongoing Israeli military operations against Iran.
The delegation, representing groups such as the Ararat Society, the Russian-Armenian Legal Association ARMROSS, the Coordination Council of Russian-Armenian Organizations, the Armenian National Committee of Russia (Hay Dat), the Unity and Mercy Foundation, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Moscow Committee, the interregional movement Apaven, the Center for Russian-Armenian Strategic and Civic Initiatives, and the Russian-Artsakh Friendship Society, delivered a formal letter of support during a meeting at the embassy.
The letter, presented through Iranian diplomats including the deputy ambassador and third secretary, strongly condemned what it described as “unauthorized Israeli attacks” targeting Iran’s civilian infrastructure, nuclear facilities, military personnel, and scientific community.
“For several days now, Israeli military structures and air forces have been conducting massive strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran, aiming at civilian areas and critical infrastructure,” the statement read. “Among the victims are dozens of civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.”
The signatories declared that such actions violate the UN Charter and international law, posing a grave threat to the lives of civilians not only in Iran but across the broader Middle East. They highlighted the vulnerability of Iran’s long-established Armenian community, calling it an integral part of Iranian society that now finds itself under existential threat.
“The further escalation of this crisis will inevitably result in wider chaos, humanitarian catastrophe, and the involvement of other states,” the letter warned. “Already, the lives of hundreds of thousands of people are at risk.”
The organizations urged the UN Security Council, the IAEA, and the international community to intervene and halt what they termed a “deadly adventure launched by the Israeli leadership.”
The message concluded with condolences to the Iranian people and the families of the victims, calling for immediate diplomatic action to prevent further bloodshed and regional destabilization.
