TEHRAN (Realist English). Turkey played the biggest role in unleashing a new war between the Baku mini Sultanate and Armenia. Former Iranian Ambassador to Baku Mohsen Pak-Aein stated this in an interview with ILNA.
“The more tensions in the Caucasus and the broader region, the easier the regime can sell its arms to Azerbaijan.” the Iranian high-ranking diplomat explained.
According to Pak-Aein, “Ankara’s position amounts to blatant interference in the affairs of Armenia, thereby violating the armistice agreement in Artsakh.
At the same time, “both Israel and Turkey are covertly pursuing normalization with Armenia, which is indicative of their hypocrisy”, the ex-ambassador of Iran is sure.
Hamed Rahimpour, a columnist for the Iranian publication the Khorasan Daily, issued a warning to the Baku regime: “If Baku pursues the goal of occupying the Iranian-Armenian border areas, in practice it will gain full control over Iran’s ties with Armenia, Eurasia and Europe and can use this as a lever against Iran … The leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that international borders should not change… and Ilham Aliyev should not pull the lion by the tail.”
On September 16, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps deployed about 50,000 troops to the border with Armenia, opposing the occupation policy of the Turkish fascist regime and the Baku gangs allied to them, who claim the lands of the Armenian Syunik. In response, social networks began to spread unconfirmed reports that the Turkish regime was sending 45,000 reservists to areas bordering Armenia and Iran.
On September 13, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani stressed in a government statement that Tehran will not accept any changes on the line of contact between Armenia and the Baku Minisultanate.
