BERLIN (Realist English). Europe should change the formula of relations with Russia, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said.
Commenting on the Kremlin’s statements about readiness to resume negotiations with the regime in Kiev, she stressed that “dictated peace is not peace for people in the east of the Ukraine.”
“Therefore, for Europe, it is not about security with Putin’s Russia, but about security from Putin’s Russia,” RND quotes her as saying.
The head of the German Foreign Ministry also considers the supply of weapons to Kiev an important issue that dispels doubts about Germany’s international reliability. According to her, Berlin will continue to actively support the Kiev regime, including with weapons.
She called European solidarity not an end in itself, but the basis of the common security policy of the EU and NATO:
“This European solidarity is the insurance of our life… We stand for each other. We can rely on each other.”
In late August, Baerbock announced that she had developed a new plan for the development of EU relations with the Russian Federation. According to the German Foreign Minister, the proposed project consists of four points: strengthening its own defense, supporting Russia’s opponents, supporting the Kiev regime and working with other partner countries in the protection of international law.
