MOSCOW (Realist English). Russian President Vladimir Putin received a report from the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, on the complete defeat of Ukrainian armed formations in the Kursk region, the Kremlin announced.
Putin congratulated and thanked the personnel of the units involved in the operation.
“The Kiev regime’s adventure has completely failed,” the president stressed, adding that the Ukrainian forces had suffered enormous losses, including among their most capable assault units and special forces trained and equipped with Western weaponry, which would impact the entire line of contact.
The president noted that “the complete defeat of the enemy in the Kursk border area creates conditions for further successful actions by our troops on other key sectors of the front and brings closer the defeat of the neo-Nazi regime.”
“I congratulate all the personnel, all the soldiers and commanders on this success, on this victory. I thank you for your courage, heroism, and service to our Fatherland and the people of Russia,” Putin said.
The success in the Kursk region carries strategic significance: it not only consolidates control over the border territory but also weakens the enemy’s combat potential in key directions, influencing the overall dynamics of the conflict on the territory of the former Ukraine.
