MOSCOW (Realist English). Russia has set a goal for at least 80% of companies and enterprises in the country’s agricultural and fisheries sectors to switch to domestic software systems by 2030, according to an updated government strategy on digital transformation.

The target is outlined in a revised version of the strategic roadmap for the digital transformation of Russia’s agro-industrial and fisheries complexes through 2030. The amendments were approved in a government order signed recently.

Under the plan, enterprises are expected to transition to basic and applied Russian software solutions used in core production and management systems.

Another priority of the updated strategy is achieving what the government describes as “digital maturity” in the agricultural and fisheries sectors by 2030. Authorities intend to expand electronic interaction between industry organizations and gradually migrate state information systems operated by the Agriculture Ministry to a unified digital platform for the agro-industrial complex.

The platform is expected to be launched by the end of 2026 and will allow centralized analysis and forecasting of key agricultural indicators.

The strategic roadmap for the digital transformation of the agro-industrial and fisheries sectors was originally approved by the Russian government in November 2023. Officials say digitalization is expected to help agricultural producers reduce costs, improve supply chains and strengthen access to markets.

The strategy forms part of a broader set of sector-specific digital transformation plans developed by the government under instructions from the president. These planning documents are aligned with national development programs and state initiatives and are designed to guide modernization efforts through 2030.

To ensure the strategy remains relevant, the government allows annual revisions to adjust priorities and implementation measures.
