Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council reported that more than 16 thousand volunteers from the Middle East are ready to participate in the special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces in the Ukraine.
“We are receiving a huge number of applications from various kinds of volunteers from different countries who would like to come to the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics in order to participate in what they believe is a liberation movement. The largest number of them comes from the Middle East: more than 16 thousand applications have already been submitted. And in this respect we, of course, consider it right to respond positively to the requests, especially since these requests are not for money, but according to the true desire of these people. We know many of them, they helped in the fight against ISIS* in the most difficult time, in the last ten years,” the head of the Ministry of Defense said.
Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin replied: “There are people who want to come on a voluntary basis, especially not for money, and help people living in the Donbas — well, we need to meet them halfway and help them move to the combat zone.”
Political analyst Anatoly Nikiforov emphasizes that Russia is beginning to respond to the enemy actions of the “collective West”:
“These would just be the guys who, together with the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces, strangled the terrorist reptile, which had also been raised by the United States to fight the Syrian people, and where Russia helped this people to find peace and not lose the state. This will be effective, because the West has unleashed a terrorist war on the territory of the Ukraine with hostage taking, torture, murder, and shielding its militants with a human shield consisting of women, old people and children.
In addition, we know that the West attracts from all over the world former participants of various military operations to the territory of the Ukraine, whose goal is simply to kill for money. These are regular killers. Volunteers from the Middle East, on the other hand, have something to “say” to all these international thugs and terrorists. And once again to avenge their loved ones who died at the hands of terrorists who have Western patrons. There was also a proposal to transfer a huge amount of captured weapons to the territory of the LDPR. This will be a good help in the fight against the fascist regime in the Ukraine. These initiatives were accepted by President Putin.”
On the morning of February 24, Supreme Commander Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces in the Ukraine. The special operation forestalled and thwarted a large-scale offensive by the shock groups of the Armed Forces of the Ukraine on the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, which are not controlled by the Kiev regime, in March of this year.
