STEPANAKERT (Realist English). The Azerbaijani armed forces have used mortars in the direction of the village of Khnapat, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh reported.
“On March 11, at about 10:20, according to preliminary data, the Azerbaijani side fired two shells from 120 mortars of 120 mm caliber in the direction of the village of Khnapat in the Askeran district of Artsakh near the school. There are no victims,” the department’s Facebook page says.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the village of Tagavard in the Martuni district of Artsakh, Azerbaijani positions through loudspeakers are currently demanding residents to leave the settlement. Materials are being prepared in the regional police departments.
In recent days, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have been firing more intensively at the settlements of Artsakh, including with mortars.
The Editor-in-chief of the Realist InformationAgency, Sarkis Tsaturyan, stressed that nothing has changed since the Baku-Turkish aggression of 2020:
“The provocations of the minisultanate are designed to sow panic and provoke an outflow of residents of Artsakh. Whoever prepares an attack always uses the surprise factor, but does not disable the gas pipeline from Armenia. So we are observing a “different case”.
Aliyev does not take the stars out of heaven, but he is not an idiot to spoil relations with Putin in such a turbulent time. Moreover, Russia has been and is on the side of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Nothing has changed since the Baku-Turkish aggression of 2020. There should be no illusions!
There is another point here: Baku will try to sell the shelling of the positions of the Russian army in Artsakh dearly to the Western public opinion – as its “solidarity” with the Ukraine.
In relation with this, I have several questions: Where did the OSCE Minsk Group and its Co-Chairs from France and the United States go? The Ukraine and Russia were not saved from a direct conflict. Maybe at least here you can show that you know how to impose sanctions not only against the Kremlin? Otherwise, it’s all curved mirrors…
I urge representatives of the Armenian Diaspora in Europe and the United States to convey to their governments in the countries of residence our indignation that right now, at this moment, the Baku kleptocracy violates human rights in Artsakh, depriving people of the right to live in peace on the land of their ancestors. And if Paris and Washington will continue to keep silence, then let them save us all from demagoguery about human rights. Either you defend them universally, or stop talking about it.”
