Turkey is fighting against Russian army in Ukraine

It's time to shove diplomacy and politics into the back drawer, says Yevgeny Satanovsky, President of the Middle East Institute.

MOSCOW (Realist English). Turkish operators are killing Russian servicemen in the Ukraine with bayraktars. This was stated during the live talk show “SolovyovLive” by the President of the Middle East Institute Yevgeny Satanovsky.

“Valery Zaluzhny, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, who was not tortured by anyone, on March 13 posted a picture of a Turkish Bayraktar hitting some artillery target. Well, we know that the Ukraine has Bayraktars, we know about all their agreements with Turkey, but in the background, the Turkish operator organizes targeting. The commander of the calculation addresses the personnel with corrective instructions in Turkish, and they answer him in Turkish,” Satanovsky said in an interview with TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov.

The President of the Middle East Institute poses the question: “Why are Turkish soldiers fighting against the Russians in the Ukraine?”.

“Of course, I understand that Zaluzhny is a fool no less than British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, but no one wants to explain to me how, in connection with the direct participation of the Turkish servicemen in the war against Russia in the Ukraine, we consider Turkey as an intermediary? Of course, the Turks will buy everything from us, and if this is called a situational partner, then – for God’s sake. You can call it whatever you want. But I pose a simple question: why are Turkish soldiers fighting against the Russians in the Ukraine? This is not a troll factory, this is not what  Margot Simonyan made on her knees in “Russia Today”. It was the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the Ukraine who posted this material. Moreover, I said this on the live show of the “Vesti” the day before yesterday and I had a powerful attack from the Middle East. It is necessary to shove diplomacy and politics into such a box so that this does not happen,” he stressed.

As of March 25, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that during the special operation, the Russian military destroyed 35 of the 36 Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones that are in the combat composition of the armed forces of the Ukraine.

Back in 2020, the decision to supply Bayraktar strike drones to the Ukraine caused a real “Turkomania” in Kiev. Journalists and bloggers declared the southern neighbor almost the best friend and ally. And they even set this as an example for Europe and the USA. It got to the point that Ankara’s actions in the Syrian Idlib were officially supported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
