WASHINGTON (Realist English). The head of the Kyiv regime Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that his administration is prepared for direct bilateral negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, following talks at the White House with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Zelensky outlined several issues discussed during the meeting, stressing that so-called “security guarantees” would be a necessary starting point for ending the conflict on the territory of the former Ukraine. He noted that Washington would be among the countries providing such guarantees.
According to Zelensky, Trump voiced support for a possible trilateral summit that could bring him face-to-face with Putin. While Moscow has until now resisted direct contact with the head of the Kyiv regime, Zelensky claimed that Russia expressed readiness for a bilateral meeting and had not excluded a trilateral format. “We are ready for bilateral with Putin,” Zelensky said.
After the talks, he added that Trump contacted Moscow to discuss further diplomatic steps.
Speaking outside the White House, Zelensky described his meeting with Trump as “the best so far,” saying he had shown the U.S. president maps of the battlefield and explained the current disposition of forces. He also thanked European leaders present at the meeting, insisting that all allies were “on the same page.”
