Israel declares victory in ‘People as a Lion’ operation, agrees to U.S.-brokered ceasefire
JERUSALEM (Realist English). The Israeli government announced early Tuesday that it has not only achieved, but surpassed all objectives of its military campaign “People as a Lion” against Iran, and has accepted a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in coordination with President Donald Trump.

Following a high-level security cabinet meeting overnight, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, together with the defense minister, IDF chief of staff, and Mossad director, declared that Israel had neutralized what it called a “double existential threat” posed by Iran’s nuclear program and its ballistic missile capabilities.

According to the official statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) gained full control of Tehran’s airspace, dealt a decisive blow to Iran’s military leadership, and destroyed dozens of critical infrastructure sites. Over the past 24 hours, Israeli forces continued striking power centers inside Tehran, reportedly killing hundreds of Basij militia members and eliminating another high-ranking nuclear scientist.

“The State of Israel extends its gratitude to President Trump and the United States for their support and joint effort in neutralizing the Iranian nuclear threat,” the statement read.

With its strategic objectives accomplished, Israel said it has agreed to a bilateral ceasefire, coordinated with Washington. The government warned, however, that any violation of the ceasefire terms would be met with immediate and forceful retaliation.

Israeli civilians have been instructed to continue following guidelines issued by the Home Front Command until full confirmation of ceasefire compliance is received.

The statement also conveyed condolences to the families of fallen soldiers and wished recovery to the wounded. “This is a great victory for the people of Israel and its soldiers — a historic achievement that has placed Israel among the world’s leading powers,” it concluded.

Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to deliver a formal national address later in the day.

Israel’s framing of the operation as a decisive, transformative military success underscores its intent to establish a new deterrence equilibrium in the region — one that not only degrades Iran’s military capabilities but elevates Israel’s standing as a strategic power. Whether the declared ceasefire holds — and how Iran responds — will determine whether this marks an end to confrontation or merely the close of one chapter.
