MOSCOW (Realist English). One must honestly and frankly admit that Dmitry Peskov is absolutely not ready to be the press secretary of the President of Russia in times of military operations, media manager Aram Gabrelyanov believes.
“As much as Dmitry Peskov was effective in peacetime, so is he helpless, confused and lost in difficult times. Dmitry Sergeevich should understand that his statements simply harm the morale of our soldiers.” he wrote in his telegram channel.
The war correspondent and the author of the WarGonzo project, Semyon Pegov, who has been working in the Donbass since the very beginning of the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces in the Ukraine, stressed that in the trenches no one supports the idea of negotiations.
“Not everyone in Donbass knows English perfectly and cannot fully appreciate Peskov’s statements on one of the British TV channels. However, I can say with confidence that in the trenches no one supports the idea of negotiations. After everything we have learned and seen about the neo—Nazis in Mariupol, for any soldier or special operator to negotiate with the Kiev regime is like negotiating with terrorists. There is no other way to formulate it.
As for the confusion with Mariupol. If we understood correctly, the city was designated on some live shows as the territory of the LPR — such “blunders” are perceived by residents of Donbass, of course, painfully. People are dying here and this is serious.
As for the losses, here, in my opinion, the criteria and estimates are more vague. It depends on what is considered big and what is small. For example, I am convinced that the death of the commander of the “Sparta” Vokha and the vice admiral of the Black Sea Fleet is already a big loss for Donbass and Russia. And how many unknown heroes have died so far? In general, it is more difficult to be unambiguous here.
And with regard to the negotiations — ask anyone on the line of contact. Here it is regarded almost as a betrayal, I’m talking about ordinary fighters, about infantrymen and stormtroopers. They sincerely do not understand such statements.” he said in the telegram channel WarGonzo.
On April 7, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Sky News that Russia had suffered “significant losses” during the special operation in Ukraine.
“We have suffered significant losses of troops, this is a huge tragedy for us.” he said.
According to him, the Russian authorities hope for the completion of the special operation in the foreseeable future either by achieving their goals by military methods or through peaceful negotiations.
On February 24, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation of the Russian Armed Forces in the Ukraine. Its goals were called “demilitarization and denazification of the Ukraine.”
Since 2014, Moscow has repeatedly made attempts to resolve the conflict over Donbass with Kiev peaceably. The Kiev regime should have simply allowed the Donbass to speak Russian and given the opportunity to live in its own way. However, instead, the Ukrainian authorities staged a blockade of the region and genocide of the local population.
