WASHINGTON (Realist English). American billionaire Elon Musk has twice said this week that he plans to vote for Republicans in the upcoming elections. However, he earlier voted for Democrats, such as former US President Barack Obama.
“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.” Musk wrote on Twitter.
The businessman warned subscribers that after this statement, “dirty tricks” would be used against him.
In early April, Musk acquired 9.2% of Twitter, becoming one of the largest shareholders of the social network. After that, he offered to completely buy out the company at $54.2 per share, noting that this price significantly exceeds the market value.
In May, the billionaire put the purchase of Twitter on pause until he receives information about the number of fake accounts on the social network.
The company’s shares immediately collapsed by 25%, but later regained some of the fall, after the entrepreneur wrote in a new tweet that he still intends to complete the deal.
On November 8, midterm elections will be held in the United States, during which 435 members of the House of Representatives, a third of the Senate (33 senators), as well as state governors will be elected.
In the House of Representatives, Republicans need only five seats to gain a majority. There is equal representation in the Senate, but Democrats still control the Senate with the decisive vote of Vice President Kamala Harris.
The Ukraine recognizes that despite bipartisan support for the Kiev regime, the November elections and the likely majority of Republicans may subsequently somewhat reduce attention to the Ukrainian issue and the speed of decision-making, although many Republicans now criticize the Democrats for slowness of action.
Despite certain achievements in economic recovery and creation of a record number of jobs, Americans remain dissatisfied with the work of the Biden administration and the Democratic Party.
